Hillcrest Baptist Church Counseling Center (HBCCC), is a ministry of Hillcrest Baptist Church and offers Biblical Counseling and Biblical Discipleship as an outreach of our church. According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work”, and therefore we believe Scripture is sufficient for counseling all people.

HBCCC offers to counsel individuals, couples and families. You do not need to be a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church to receive counsel. Counseling is available for fear, grief, anger, family concerns, marriage problems, addictions, disorders, guilt, and parent/child relationships, among other circumstances and situations.

There is no cost for counseling at Hillcrest Baptist Church Counseling Center. Counseling services are provided to our community as a ministry of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Our counselors and pastoral staff are trained through seminary instruction or certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.

Hillcrest Baptist Church believes the Bible is sufficient and therefore provides thorough guidance and instruction for daily living. Therefore, our counseling is fundamentally founded on Biblical principles and teachings rather than those of secular psychology or psychiatry. Neither the pastoral team, biblical counselors nor the counselors-in-training is trained or licensed as psychotherapists or mental health professionals, nor should they be expected to follow the methods of such specialists.

Some of our counselors may work in professional fields outside the counseling ministry. When serving as counselors within this ministry, however, they do not provide the same kind of professional advice and services that they do when they are hired in their professional capacities. Therefore, if significant legal, financial, medical, or other technical questions are needed or desired, you should seek advice from an independent professional. Hillcrest Baptist Church Counselors are not licensed psychologists or psychiatrists, we function as a ministry and therefore we do not have the authority to prescribe medications. Because we are a ministry, it is understood that any counselee who is taking prescribed medication of any kind should disclose that information to their counselor and should continue taking them until their prescribing doctor terminates the prescription.

If you have thoughts of suicide, please call 911 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255), or contact your medical provider or go to the nearest emergency room.

Because God’s Word is sufficient, counseling sessions must be accompanied by homework assignments that are a part of the counseling process. You must bring your bible and a notebook to all sessions. Extra required reading resources might be suggested and please be prepared to purchase some small books.

Additionally, because the Lord has provided the local church as the discipleship center according to Hebrews 10:24-25, we emphasize that counseling sessions be accompanied by weekly church attendance, participation in an individual or group Bible study, and other discipleship activities in your local church body.

We understand that there are times you may have a question or a situation may arise between scheduled appointments. Please respect your counselor by limiting emails and phone calls between visits and by understanding that delays in response may occur. Please call 911 for any emergency issues.
